If you're ever wondering what a wild and crazy party at our house is like, this is it.
14 people, three game boards, plenty of food & drinks, a great mix of friends, one cute baby, four little boys locked in the basement with video games & chips, one couple in matching t-shirts that had "Catan, Ya feel it?" printed on the back, 7 prizes, some good healthy competition, little bit of strategy & a lot of luck, 5 hours and plenty of laughs.
We like to do this a couple of times a year, have a big tournament with this game we are all a little addicted to, Settlers of Catan. It's a fun game and at the tournament you get to play with almost everyone throughout the evening. Last time it was a 3-way tie for 1st place between Me, Julie & Mindy.
The guys all talk big but they didn't perform.
This time, there was but one winner.
So, if you're ever at a party with the cool kids and are wondering what the nerds are doing, this is it. If you like board games, this is a great way to get your geek on.
And, to my "Settlin'" friends, if you're ready for a rematch...

Who are those children in the photos? Rock and roll hands? Tongues out? My goodness.
We had a great time, but I am starting practice tomorrow and next year I vow to overthrow the Queen.
