"...if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God, for the lord gives wisdom and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding... Then you will understand what is right and just and fair -- every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you and understanding will guard you."
from Proverbs 2
When I think if my Christian life, one of the things that I really love about it is that there are both the elements that are completely heart/soul/attitude/faith... and then there is the very practical, day-to-day, applicable, real life living out of those intangibles. It's not about earning points, it's about BEING and WALKING like someone who is taking the Truth seriously. I'm never going to get that right all the time, but in so many ways that is the evidence of God in my life. Sound elementary, doesn't it?
Every second week I sit down to lunch with 4 of my favorite ladies. We talk about life and faith and open our Bibles and share what God is showing us about Himself and about us. It is one of the things on my calendar I look forward to the most. Right now we are walking through Proverbs and I thought I'd try to post a few of the things that stand out to me. Simple, life-changing truths... who couldn't' use a dose of that?
